Clay
Stoneware
I used the white clay and it was very smooth.
Earthenware
This is the brown clay in the big boxes in the fornt of the art room. You cannot put it in the kiln with the white clay. You have to be careful becuase it gets dry fast.
Glazes
The ones that say underglaze are the best you can tell what color they are.
The kiln
Make sure if you are helping with the kiln you don't put glazed and painted clay in with the other clay tht is just dry but not fired. You have to put the glzed clay not close to other glazed clay. If it is not fired it is called greenware. If it is fired but not glazed it is called bisk.
Paint
Oil paint
This doesnt dry and you have to have a windo open.
Watercolor
This makes tha paper bumpy but it is easy to use and you cant make a mess. This paint is see through.
Acrylics
This paint is clean up with water and dries fast on the paper or on the convas. this makes the paint shiny when it dried. You have to mix your colors first and save them do they do not dry.
Tempera
This is safe to eat.
Finger
This is for that smoooth paper and it is for little kids .
Paper
There is a lot of paper in a box under the teacher's desk and there are scraps. If you want white paper you have to go in the big store room but you have to get permission and only one person at a time.
Scissors
If you use them you have to have number so you remember to put them back. They are in the holder in the front. Cut with small snips and your paper won't be all raggy.
Glue
Use the glue in the ketchup squieter, use just a little so it dries faster. If you use too much glue it is a big mess. You can put it on your hands and peel it off too.
Plaster
You have to mix it and use it right away , it is warm when it dries. Don't get it on your clothes. You can paint it after it dries but use the acrylic paint.
Cardboard
This is for big art projects and you have to get permisson to use the knife.
